On March 15, Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Pavel, the Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, awarded the director of the National Library of Belarus, Roman Motulsky, the Jubilee Medal and the Russian Orthodox Church Diploma for the facsimile reprint of Francysk Skaryna’s book heritage.

The honorary award is the highest mark of recognition and credit to the National Library for the preservation and enhancement of cultural values.

Dear Roman Stepanovich, we sincerely congratulate you on the high award! May this be a new guiding star to great accomplishments and achievements in the name of spiritual enrichment of the Belarusian people.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.

This year marks the 205th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous composer, our famous countryman Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872). By this date, the National Library of Belarus is replenishing with new materials the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created in 2019.

The 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War are among the main events of 2024 and 2025. Numerous patriotic and cultural and educational events, scientific conferences, exhibitions, publishing projects, electronic resources and much more will be dedicated to these anniversaries for two years.
