The opening of the exhibition of paintings by modern Belarusian artists from the Belinvestbank’s corporate collection was held in the library on 4 April.


For a quarter of a century, the Belinvestbank not only provides a full range of financial services, but also participates in socially significant initiatives supporting national cultural projects and providing aid to public organizations and associations. More than once the bank has sponsored international and national events such as the Slavonic Bazaar, Listapad and others. For a significant contribution to the development of national culture, the Belinvestbank was awarded the diploma "The Patron of Culture of Belarus" in 2014.

The bank is proud of its collection of works of art, which includes over one hundred paintings created in the 1990s. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary, the Belinvestbank presents to a wide audience 44 works by modern Belarusian artists. Guests of the event were pleased with the works devoted to the theme of spring. The native nature blossoms on the canvases of artists, awakening to life all those who know how to listen to it. Here are Spring Motives of S. Boyko, Lilac of F. Kiselev, Spring of S. Davidovich and An Apple Tree in Bloom by an unknown author. Connoisseurs of history were able to get acquainted with the works of M. Basalygo: Prince David Gorodensky, Lev Sapega, the Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, The Grunwald Battle of 1410. Different in subjects and techniques, the works of art represent the collective image of the Motherland through the eyes of Belarusian artists, with its picturesque nature, unusual architecture and rich history.

Roman Motulsky, the director of the National Library of Belarus, thanked the management of the Belinvestbank for close partnership relations and implementation of joint projects, and expressed confidence that the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian printing would open new horizons for cooperation and fruitful joint work.

The Chairman of the Board of Belinvestbank Andrey Brishtelev noted in his speech that the preservation of spiritual national wealth was one of the important directions in the activity of the bank. Today the corporate collection of paintings includes more than a hundred paintings, forty of which, the most valuable, were presented to visitors of the library. The event was also attended by the deputy chairman of the Association of Belarusian Banks Alexander Kuchinsky and the chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists Grigory Sitnitsa, people’s artist of Belarus Vladimir Tovstik, members of the Belarusian Unoin of Artists Sergey Davidovich, Alexander Susha and other artists – authors of paintings from the Belinvestbank’s collection.

The exposition runs in the gallery “Rakurs” (2nd floor), until 2 May, 2017.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
