“Outside the house” Painting Exhibition by Maria Redko has opened in the Panorama Gallery (22nd floor), on 31 October.

Stop sticking indoors! There’s neither inspiration nor adventure within four walls. Let’s go in search of beauty together with Maria Redko. The modern young artist from Brest presents in the Belarusian capital a series of cheerful and sunny works – everything she has seen and noticed during her strolls and observations of the world outside.

Having graduated from the A. Pushkin Brest State University in 2008, Maria went to perfect her professional skills in Berlin, at the painting department of the Art Institute “Weissensee”. The artist has repeatedly participated in national and international exhibitions in Belarus, Germany, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Sweden. Now her works can be seen and even purchased at the selling exhibition "Autumn Salon with Belgazprombank."

The girl is very fond of traveling, discovering new countries, looking for inspiration in new places and acquaintances. Immediate impressions take the form of watercolors as, first, this technique is more mobile during the journey, and secondly, the world in watercolor is reflected differently than in oil.

Portrait painting is the main trend in Marya’s work. However, she is known as a talented illustrator and designer, the author of illustrations for the books My Grandmother’s Tales, The Faces of Villages That Disappear, Literary Cuisine. The artist has experienced herself as a motion graphic artist as well. A year ago, Maria Redko was the only representative from Belarus among the participants of a large-scale project to create a full-length animated film With Love, Vincent about the famous Dutch artist Van Gogh. Almost half a year, she painted footage from the film with oil paint, using the principles of Vincent Van Gogh’s style. So the famous artist’s handwriting has echoed in Maria’s creative search, starting to manifest in her style.

The opening ceremony was attended by Olga Davidovich, the head of exhibition activity department of the National Library of Belarus, Evgeniy Shuneyko, the Professor at the department of history and theory of arts of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, Alexander Zimenko, the PhD in Art History and leading specialist of the Information Policy Administration at the Belgazprombank, and Maria Redko, the artist and author of works.

The exhibition is free of charge, but since 1 November you have to pay a ticket to enter the observation deck.
The exposition will run in the Panorama Gallery till 15 February, 2018.
The ending date may be changed.
