The art project "Paris is ahead, Europe is outside the windows" opened on January 26 in the Library.

The author non-commercial conceptual gallery "BRAMA" is well-known abroad. Its plein airs, which save old traditions, have dynamic changes. Moving forward regards not only plastics and stylistics but also space. Participants of the gallery held an experimental plein air on wheels, visiting seven cultural capitals of six countries in a week in 2016.

A fresh look and immediate impressions after acquaintance with cities appeared at the exhibition "Paris is ahead, Europe is outside the windows". Sketches, drawings as free pictures let spectators finish the work themselves. If you want it – let Paris be warm and sunny today, and Brussels – rainy!

The exhibition presents finished art canvases – Bright Day in Amsterdam, Quiet Street in Paris, Dream about Shagal, etc. You should just admire them, making a cultural art-marathon with the gallery "BRAMA" in thoughts. Bright paintings contrast with atmospheric black and white photos: here we can see a girl in a nice hat with the Eiffel Tower in the background, graffiti Tintin’s Adventures in the streets of Brussels, an old pinacotheca of Munich.

The first deputy director of the National Library of Belarus Elena Dolgopolova greeted guests and participants of the plein air. The executive director of the fund "Heritage and time", historian Yuri Abdurahmanov marked courage and uniqueness of projects, organized by the gallery "BRAMA" for more than 25 years. Moving beyond the usual in Belarusian art, only "BRAMA" can so harmoniously present a mosaic of artworks various in their types, genres and techniques.

The author of the conception and art-director of the gallery "BRAMA" Larisa Finkelstein shared her impressions and recollections of plein air, marked peculiarities of every visited city: "The image of Amsterdam is a city-toy, a fairy tale. It has a lot of childish things – legends, tales, unusual stories… and bicycles! There is plenty of them. Wonderful Paris – satisfied all our expectations!" This is felt in artists’ works – despite the agreement not to depict the Eiffel Tower, nearly a dozen of works present it. Sometimes in a very unexpected way – for example, inverted!

Talented actors and musicians created a real atmosphere of Paris: mimes of the band of the original genre "Кто-то", monocyclists of the circus studio "Белая Русь", a violinist, pupil of the Machulishchi children school of arts Marya Arutiynova. Veronika Tsubikova and Anastasya Tretyak performed well-known French songs, which allured all listeners to the city of romantics and nostalgia.

We invite everyone to join the art-marathon and visit the exposition till February 19, 2017 in the gallery "Rakurs" (2nd floor).
