Kandrat Krapiva

Kandrat Krapiva is a playwright and fabulist, writer, scholar, linguist and social activist; People's Writer of the Byelorussian SSR (1956); a member of the Union of Writers of the BSSR (1934); a laureate of the State Prize of the BSSR named after Yanka Kupala (1974); an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1950); Doctor of Philology (1953); Honored Worker of Science of the BSSR (1978).

Born in the village of Nizok, Uzda Municipality, Minsk County and Governorate of the Russian Empire (now Uzda District, Minsk Region, Republic of Belarus).
