The presentation of the book "Khatyn. Tragedy of Belarusian People" will be held on March 16 in the Library.

The organizers of the event are the National Library of Belarus and the publishing house Belorusskaya encyklopedia imeni Petrusya Brovki.

The author of the book is Arthur Zelsky, candidate of Historical Sciences, director of the Khatyn memorial complex.

The publication is timed to the 75th anniversary of the tragic events that took place in Khatyn on March 22, 1943. The book tells not only about the unknown pages of the history of the village, for example about the first mention of its name in 1551, but also about other rural settlements that were destroyed during the occupation.

Within the framework of the presentation, an open viewing of printed publications dedicated to Khatyn from the collections of the National Library of Belarus will be held.

The event starts at 2 p.m. at the “Labyrynth” gallery (3d floor).
